UCHS Band Aide Club Minutes

July 30th 2009

President Andy Fowler called the meeting to order welcoming everyone especially the new members. He also introduced the club’s 2009-2010 officers. He then called on Mr. Sam White to lead the club in prayer.

Stacy Gibson read the minutes from the June meeting. They were approved as read.

Susan Adams gave the treasury report as of 7-8-09 there was $1701.46 in the general account and $25,924.23 in the kid’s account. To date however, the un-reconciled balance is $1761.46 in the general account and $31,669.36 in the kids account. In the passing of Khristany Comer’s mom Sharisse Comer the club sent a $25.00 memorial to their church.

Beverly Smith and Stacy Gibson shared with the club some of the spirit items that would be for sale this season.

Sue Gregory requested help for the fish fry to be held August 22nd 2009.

She along with each of the officers filled the new members in on the fish fry

and strongly encouraged all to sign up to help with this event. The meeting then shifted to the need to have committee chairpersons and all spots were filled. Randall Burns - Pit Crew/ Pam Fowler - Concessions / Dianne Woodard - Chaperones / Paula Wright  - Food for Competitions/ Shannon Williams – Publicity.

Andy Fowler shared that all parents would need to fill out Chaperone sheets with info for a background check. This is enforced thru the school district and is for the safety of our children.

Mr. Wilkes shared with the group this year’s music, Celestial Journey. The theme is a trip thru space in 2001. It begins like space travel and ends with children exiting the field thru a prop of a black hole. He said the show was a lot of fun and the kid’s love it. He shared that he was so pleased with this group of children composed of 75 girls and 42 boys. He briefed the group on the props for this year.  Mr. Wilkes informed us that the fish fry tickets would be given to the children on July 31,2009. Each child will have ten to sell. Mr. Wilkes closed by sharing with us the motto that the children wrote

for the UCHS marching band.

The next meeting is set for September 8,2009.

With no further business the meeting adjourned.

Respectfully Submitted,
