UCHS Band Aide Club Minutes

October 6, 2009

President Andy Fowler called the meeting to order.  Stacy Gibson led the club in prayer and Sue Gregory read the minutes from the previous meeting.  They were approved as read.

Susan Adams gave the treasury report. The final profit on the fish fry after all bills were paid was $2431.86. She said we are roughly profiting $800.00

per home ballgame. As of 9-8-09 there was $9010.00 in the general account and as of 9-30-09 the account balance was $1559.64.

Andy made us aware that Mr. Wilkes had printed schedules for the next two competitions and that they could be picked up in the band room. There was discussion as to what we would feed the children on upper state and state competitions. The group decided to purchase Chic-Fillet sandwiches for upper state and also state competition provided we go.

It was decided to send out fruit packets on Oct. 22nd and they will have to be turned in no later than Nov. 20th.  Mr. Wilkes will set a table for us to go by but the children will roughly get 75% profit while the club gets the other 25%.

Beverly Smith expressed that she would like for us to do something for the children. She said they have worked hard and need a boost before upper state.  The club decided to give them an ice cream social Thursday October 22nd directly after practice.

Mr. Wilkes stated that he took a poll of the children concerning this year’s trip and 70% of them chose Disney World. The trip will be 5 days 4 nights and he is working on getting the price of the trip per student which will include breakfast paid each day and A $25.00 Disney meal card. The date for the trip due to the unknown schedule of the Indoor Percussion Competitions hasn’t yet been set. He also said the children would perform twice, once in the parade and also at the Space Center. On October 23rd Senior Night the band would perform their show at half time and that he would recognize the seniors prior to the half time show.

Mr. Fowler brought up the need to retire the Suburban. The club decided to take it to a junkyard to sell.

Shannon Williams stated that she is working on a newsletter and if anyone had info they wanted included to contact her.

The next meeting is set for November 3rd 2009.

With no further business the meeting adjourned.

Respectfully Submitted,
