Union County BAC Minutes
June 2, 2009
President Andy Fowler called the meeting to order.
Stacy Gibson read the minutes from the previous meeting. There was one
change to be made. The date on the Band Banquet had changed to May 5th. The change was made and the minutes were approved as read.
Susan Adams gave the treasure report. From the Band Review we made approximately $4800.00. 1st night at the door $3300.00 was collected 2nd night at the door $1680.00 was collected. Total monies collected from the hotdog/bake sale was $534.00. Therefore once food bills were paid this effort was pretty much a bust. The band banquet cost was $3979.00. As of 5-5-09 we had $6923.25 in the general account. However, this month bills were paid and our un-reconciled balance was $1699.32. The children’s account balance is $22,999.64.
Beverly Smith brought a couple items to show the group concerning spirit
items. She suggested that we purchase imprinted water bottles and imprinted lanyards to sale at band camp and upcoming football games. She is also working with a local company who will make up a few items such as visors and golf shirts with our imprint. These would available on a take order bases. Mrs. Smith was given a budget not to exceed $400.00 to purchase these items.
There was discussion that we needed to go ahead and give fund raiser dates to Mr. Walker for the upcoming year. This would include the fruit sales, band card, fish fry, concessions and the band review.
There was also discussion about the committees and the need to recruit heads for each.
The club voted in the executive committee for the upcoming year. Andy Fowler - President, Karen Greer - Vice President, Susan Adams - Treasury and Stacy Gibson – Secretary. Motion to accept these officers was made by
Beverly Smith and a second was given by Pam Fowler.
Mr. Wilkes said he was sorry he couldn’t be here tonight he is at Boogaloo
practice.
The next meeting is set for July 30th with an ice cream social planned
