UCHS Band Aide Club Minutes

September 2, 2008

President Andy Fowler called the meeting to order at 7:05pm.

Jim Hart led the club in prayer.

Stacy Gibson read the minutes from the previous meeting they were approved as read.

Susan Adams gave the treasury report, we have $9041.35 in the General Account. Profits from the Philco Trailer were $40.00 from the Jamboree and
$80.00 from the Chester Ballgame. Also, at this point we have made a profit of $5086.63 from the fish fry. We still have on small invoice (under $200.00) that hasn’t yet been sent to us for payment.

Chairperson Susan Adams is well on her way with preparation of the Wilbur F. Smith Competition. However, much concern has been expressed that only five bands have agreed to come with only three having paid their entry fee.

There are eight other competitions going on this same day, some in surrounding counties. Those committed to come are small bands and it is believed we would take a big loss to put on this competition. Mr. Wilkes is going to discuss this issue with Mr. Walker as well as the district office. At that time a final decision will be made weather to go forward with the competition or to cancel it.

Pam Fowler requested help with concessions and passed around sign up sheets for upcoming games.

Andy Fowler made the club aware that we need someone to head up Fruit Sales. No one volunteered.

The club decided to set a budget of $500.00 - $2000.00 for the purchase e of spirit items to be sold. Maxine Craft made a motion to accept this budget and Karen Greer made a second. Andy Fowler asked for someone to chair this position no one volunteered.

Sue Gregory, Andy Fowler, and Pam Roberts will begin working on reviewing the bylaws.

Mr. Wilkes made us aware of a few glitches in the band uniforms, but all have been taken care of. Each student has been sized and uniforms are ready to be issued. Parents were made aware that their child has been measured for shoes and they are at the school if you haven’t paid for them they are $25.00.

Also, your child needs white under armor and white socks not footies.

With no further business the meeting adjourned.

Respectfully Submitted
